The Niners host the Brown after a week off after a soft 3-0 start. This is one of the few times where I think a bye week is punishing, taking some early momentum away while not actually rewarding them when recovery time. Week 4 bye just seems silly. Irrelevantly, they are 0-5 in the past 5 years coming off a bye and teams coming off a week 4 bye have gone .500.
Cleveland will not get the relief they were hoping for, with Ward and Williams out for a 3rd straight game. This doesn't necessarily hurt them either, this defense has done well without them, only conceding 48 points over those 3.
The Niners will rely heavily on their run game to open up some play action passes for Jimmy G. However, the Browns have shown success against a similar run scheme and game plan, keeping Bell bottle up to an underwhelming 93 yards.
The Browns have proven themselves with this squad, defeating the mighty Raven's and limiting the high octane Rams offense to a mere 20 pts. The Niners are smashing the metrics by narrowly defeating the Mason Rudolph led Steelers, the hopeless Bengals, and bested the Bucs where Winston had his career worst game. Niners: have something yet to prove.
I'm taking the Browns to win outright at 2.974 for 1 unit on Nitrogen and anything greater than 2.4 odds, with a lean on the under. And those with less of an appetite for the risk, I am also backing the Browns at +4.5 with 1.5 units on Nitrogen at 1.966, greater than 1.9 odds.
