Let's jump to sippy's analysis and betting predictions for Tuesday Night NHL, October 8, 2019.

Carolina Hurricanes ML +105/2.11 [1u]

This is a match up of two teams who have both surprisingly beat the Lightning already this season - however, I was surprised to see that the Canes are dogs in this one. They’ve managed to beat 3 teams who are all more talented than the Panthers in my opinion (Habs, Caps, Lightning) and have put up almost 40 SOG per game thus far. Reimer is going to face his old team and I like him to do well enough in net to ride Carolina’s high-powered offense to a win against what is in my opinion a weaker Florida squad. As an added bonus, the model agrees with this pick.

Jets/Penguins o6.5 -120/1.833 [1u]

The Jets D is total garbage this season - they lost a ton of defensive talent in the off season and the effects are already starting to show. Winnipeg’s allowed 14 goals in just 3 games so far and this is not the recipe for victory against a strong Pens offense that is coming off scoring 7 goals against Columbus. The Jets still know how to score though, and I think this game could be wide open for goals especially given the teams’ history of scoring plenty against each other in past match ups.

Stars/Capitals u5.5 -130/1.69 [1u]

Stars under proving to be clockwork, just ask this guy.

Death, taxes, and the under in Stars games. The Stars defense is as good as ever while their offense is not quite as skilled - pretty much the same as last year when they were a recipe for low-scoring games. Meanwhile, Washington’s offense hasn’t quite got going yet, as they’ve managed just 7 goals in 3 outings and have yet to play in a game where the total goes over 5. Roll with the under.

Calgary Flames -1.5 +125/2.25 [0.5u]

This one is pretty straightforward - I expect the Flames to overwhelm a bottom-of-the-pack Kings team on both sides of the ice, as Calgary is a team that knows how to score like no other while LA doesn’t have nearly as many weapons on offense. The line is steep for a reason but I’m confident enough to take the Calgary puck-line as I wouldn’t be surprised at all if this one turns into a blowout.

Vegas Golden Knights ML -135/1.74 [0.5u]

The Bruins come into this one for the third game of a 4-game road trip, and I expect this one to be by far the toughest of their match ups so far. They were able to sneak past the Stars and Yotes despite scoring just 3 combined goals in those contests, and they won’t be able to get away with lackluster play on the offensive end against a Knights team known for scoring who have already put up 10 goals in just 2 games. Just a half unit play since Vegas are pretty heavily favored, but this isn’t a game I expect the Knights to lose.
