It’s a thing! And it will continue in Week 8 because the Patriots Defense is playing at an absolutely ridiculous level right now.

To put it in perspective, the Boogeymen have held 3 of 7 opponents under 200 yards, and 4 of 7 offenses out of the endzone. Total points allowed: 48 through seven games, an average of 6.9 (NOICE) points per game. The only passing touchdown allowed went to Golden Tate.

In fact, Colin Cowherd tweeted the other day that, if the Patriots offense did not take the field this season, the team would be 3-3-1 and a playoff bound one at that.

Some stats for you:

Devin McCourty: 5 Interceptions

- 18 Team Total Interceptions (last team to do this in 7 games was the ‘96 Packers)

- 50 QB Hits

- 26 Sacks

- 3 games with 1 interception

- Other 4 were with 3 interceptions or more

And now they get Baker Mayfield and this once vaunted offense. Some quick facts on Mayfield:

- 11 Interceptions on the season, 5.6% int rate

- Offensive line has allowed 16 sacks, 7.5% sack rate

- 66 Quarterback Rating

- At least 1 interception per game

They’re now in New England facing a defense that will definitely be looking to make a statement as all the haters and losers have said the competition they’ve faced so far is soft. Consider that Jarvis Landry said they would walk out of New England with the win, too. Game conditions will be rainy and a decent wind.

Slam this pick with confidence, guys. Mayfield’s struggles will continue, the Patriots defense will continue its elite play, and you’ll make money.
