Rift Rivals NA-EU Day 1 Analysis

I don't know what to even say about yesterday's NA performance aside from RIP.

Blue side was 100% picked for side selection, G2 being the only EU team with side selection on day one. Red side didn't seem to matter for EU, as they took down Team Liquid, TSM, and C9.

Game 1, G2 made some interesting lane swaps, sending Wunder bot on Neeko and Perkz top on Yasuo. G2 dominated the flow of the game, taking first blood, first drake, and first tower. Although C9 managed to take out Rift Herald and a dragon of their own, they couldn't overcome the gold deficit that G2 continuously grew throughout the game. Jankos was an absolute beast on Lee, and finished the game with an impressive 6/0/12 kill line. Wunder had the play of the game after Caps lost his life to a 3 man collapse. Double TP came in, Wunder managed to take a quick double kill and eventually a quad in a 2v5. C9 looked lost and with no answers, finishing the game with no towers and 28 deaths to 8 kills.

Team Liquid versus Fnatic was a bot fiesta between two of the best ADC's in each region. Early game was full of action full of 10hp fights, TP flanks and more - guess where? Bottom lane. By 10 minutes, there were 7 kills on the board, all from down south. TL managed to hang on to a gold lead going into mid game but lost control after a questionable fight, perfectly executed by FNC which translated into a Baron. Fnatic's Dan saw his first international stage in his start over Broxah, which made me a bit nervous about our FNC pick, and while he had some failed ganks, he proved to be a worthy Jungler, finishing the match 2/2/13 and was a critical part in turning this game around. If Fnactic can keep playing through bot lane and survive early, they should be unstoppable.

Zven vs. Mithy - man was Mithy out to prove something against a team he spend last year with and a lane partner that he spent a lifetime with. He was an absolute monster on Pyke, laning with their mid nukeduck. TSM looked lost and OG finally looked like what we expected from them this split. I don't really have words for this one.

In the final match of the day, C9 Nisqy did everything he could to take his team to victory. Unfortunately, FNC had other plans. Oh, they also started Broxah, who has been on an absolute TEAR. The game played fairly even, C9 even secured first drake and Herald. Things went far south from there, as FNC wiped the rift clean of C9 in a really questionable fight, featuring YOLO TP's. This game looked like an ARAM. FNC was able to build a strong gold lead, Bwipo owned Licorice, and brother Sven was unable to find any success on Xin.

Overall, these games were all fiestas and we made out 2-1, +0.58u. As I always say, profit is profit.
