Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers have faced several fierce defensive challenges thus far in the 2019 season. Kicking off the 100th Season of the NFL, the Packers faced the stout Bears, where both teams started off by shaking off rust after little, or no, preseason action, where they managed to only put up 10 points and a total of 213 offensive yards. The following week, they met the 5th overall ranked Vikings at home in Lambo. In the excitement leading up to the game, where Aaron Rodgers told Matt Lafleur that he would throw three touchdowns. And initially, it seemed like a possibility. Rodgers started off red hot, throwing two touchdowns within the first quarter, but then, LOL JK. The Fantasy Gods came in with different plants to screw your team this week and the game plan shifted entirely -- transitioning to a ground and pound where the Packers gashed the Vikings on the ground for 144 yards and a score, and Rodgers remained under 200 yards passing. In week 3, the Packers won against the woefully terrible Broncos, but again, Rodgers was under 300 passing yards and only one score. So...yeah, not a great start for the offense. In fact, peeling back the onion some more, Davante Adams is ranked 36th in receiving yards with 198. Not a touchdown in sight, either.

There is some upside, however: the Green Bay defense. So far this season, the defense has seen a dramatic rebound from last season, now being ranked 5th against the pass, allowing only one touchdown pass with 4 interceptions. On the ground? They’re 8th. They held Mitch Trubisky to a 62.1 Quarterback Rating. Kirk Cousins to a 52.9 passer rating. Former Super Bowl MVP and soon to be NFL color commentator Joe Flacseed? A 75.8 QBR. One thing is obvious: the Rodgers’ offense has better days ahead of them, and as it begins heating up, the defenses they face become worse and worse. *Smirk Emoji* Best part is, the Eagles travel to Green Bay this Thursday night where their 23rd overall ranked defense, and injury riddled offense, will try to find answers against a Rodgers fueled offense with a formidable running game.

On the other side of the ball, the Eagles are certainly not soaring. They opened against the worst defense in the league, scorching them through the air, but have gradually worked their way to the middle of the pack. Now, they face the top of the Pac. After a wonderful Deshaun Jackson/Eagles reunion tour in week 1 vs the Redskins, the team has been unable to string together wins. Wentz doesn’t have the luxury of a decent ground game to assist him (Eagles offense ranks 17th overall with 299 yards rushing through 3 games), and it’s clear by his performances. Week 2 he completed only 25 of 43 passes for 231 yards, 2 interceptions and 3 sacks. Week 3, Wentz found more success through the air, but there’s a problem when he rushed only 4 yards less than running back Jordan Howard (who isn’t good). Buzz, your girlfriend, woof. To make matters worse, Wentz will be without Jackson this week, and it’ll be interesting to see how they crack this Packers defense.

I will take Aaron Rodgers at home by a TD at plus odds, all day.
